i have just started work at a new company the old IT guy used to install NAVC 7.60 on the client machines (Win2k/XP clients and Win2K server)by installing it locally and selecting managed client (this way it updates from the server). I have been informed that he did this because of the errors that XP gives... something about a sysevent file....

I have just bought some new machines 4 of which where XP and I installed the NAVC from the server using the remote client setup. All is fine and installs completed. I need to know a way to check that this installation is running correctly, and that the updates are running automatically from the NAVC server. How do i check these items please???

thanks in advance

wilson, am I reading correctly that you want to see if your four new PC's are updating and being managed by your SAV server?

Just login to the SSC (Symantec System Center) on your SAV server and see if the clients are there and what the date of their defs are.

You can also check the "Parent Server" on the clients, it should show the name of your SAV server, vs "None".
