client restore EXIT STATUS 23: socket read failed

Whene I try te restor from a flash backup windows with netbackup 5.0ga. I get this error msg.
/8/2007 16:32:59 - Error bpbrm(pid=700) client restore EXIT STATUS 23: socket read failed

I can't find an anser for my problem
plz help

Check and verify connectivity from the client out to the master and the media server:

Use the following...

traceroute
ping
bpclntcmd -pn
bpclntcmd -hn <hostname>
bpclntcmd -ip <ip>

Also make sure client service is running and that bprd is running on the master.

Connectivity and dns would be two possible areas for you to look into but i have had to restore netbackup client softwae on the client on couple of occassions when troubleshooting the same issue you are describing.
