I have a client that when she logs in to TSE and changes her settings in
Outlook 98 ( email options, PAB path ). She logs out of her session then
logs back in, her settings are gone.

I looked at her ntuser.dat file in her profile and the settings are set the
way she wants but when she logs in they dont get written to her active TSE
session.

No other client is having this problem, and I cannot recreate it with any
other client.

Does anyone have any insight?

thanks
chris

When she logs in does she get the "System cannot find your roaming profile..." message?

Check the path to the profile carefully in UMD.

Is she in the correct group?

(Just a few things to check!)

Hope this helps

Thanks for your response, I asked her that question, here is the response...

I'm not getting the roaming profile msg. But that reminded me of something that might help you. My problem started happening when I was "shut down" out of terminal server w/o logging off by the Helpdesk. Then when I tried to get back into Terminal Server I got the roaming profile msg and the helpdesk couldn't tell me how to answer. That message has a timer on it and when the timer ended it went with the default setting... and that started my problems.

So I am assuming that there is something somewhere that is telling that profile to use the default profile. Her profile does not exist locally. Now to find out where that is and change it...

thanks
chris
