client registering the wrong IP address on the WSUS Server

The IP it's showing is my proxy server.... What is going on? This just started to happen... all clients cannot update now that this has happened. Anyone ever see this before, if so, got a fix?

Is the WSUS server static IP, are you using DHCP created an exclusion range for servers/printers etc and or set reservation for the server in question. Lastly is conflict detection on DHCP.
Check client hasn't modified the network card and added it's own static IP.
You can also check DNS records, run a nslookup nameofpc > C:\clientpc.txt

adding more information:

all clients point to a proxy server (ISA 2006) ISA server is configured for port 80 and 443 traffic only. nothing else. Ever since I implemented the proxy server, WSUS has been acting aweful.... I'm sure I have to open something on
the ISA server to allow something. I just don't know what.

"some clients" are able to check in... I'm using group policy to point the
clients to the WSUS server (note: pointing to http:\\<server>:8530

Proxy setting has been setup in WSUS pointing to <proxy server> port:8080
and I'm using credentials......

Is this normal that clients are reporting w/ the proxy server IP address?
I've never seen this before....

Did you try setting the clients to bypass the proxy for local addresses?
