I have two Vista PCs. One can logon to Server 2003 using its Windows logon user name and password. The other fails when its user name and password for that PC is entered.

Both PCs can see the server name in the network menu but when I click on it to logon and enter the user name and password, I get an error that Windows cannot logon, then it returns the logon screen asking for the user name and password again.

Do I have to explicitly add each user to the Server? I have added "Everyone" to the list of names and checked all of the permission options but that doesn't help. I have set up a shared folder which is visible to the working Vista PC.

your in a workgroup enviroment i guess, so yes, each user thats connecting to the share must have an account on the server

Thanks for your answer. I suspected that.

I just figured out how to add users to a Windows XP Professional platform. Is the procedure similar on the Server 2003 platform? I want to be sure I know how to do it before visiting my clients site.
