Client or Server issue?

Please advise what would cause slow upload times from Windows workstation to Windows Server? I have several Intranet web pages on different Intranet servers in my office. The client workstations use the ASP site to upload files from the workstation to the server.

It sometimes takes as much as 5 minutes to upload a 50 mb file from client to any of the windows servers. Do I need to increase the client bandwidth or processing or what to expedite the upload? Or is it a server bandwidth issue?

I take it this would be bandwidth from the client side, wish mine was that fast.

You actually need to look at three things:

Client connectivity network speed/duplex
Server connectivity network speed/duplex
Network bandwidth

Slow performance can be a multitude of things but start off with speed/duplex as this can cause slow performance. Ensure that your client and server network configurations match that of the network switch: for example if your switch is forced to 100Mb Full Duplex and your server is left at Auto Negotiate, it will negotiate to 100Mb Half Duplex only which will cause poor performance.
