Client.msi - not enough space error 1703 1

Hi everybody,

I am trying to manually install sp2 advanced client on a Server 2003 machine. MSI file errors out saying that there is not enough free space on the destination drive.
Destination drive has 1.08 T of available space. There are several posts on Google saying that there is a problem with MSI installer and big (more than a Terabyte) disks. But there is no solution on Google! One person that had simular problem had to actually reinstall his server with more managable partitions. I can't do that.

Has anyone had simular issues?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

This must be it. Too bad they removed the hotfix. I can't really apply a service pack, but I am on the phone with MS now trying to get the original hotfix.
