hi!!!!
we install sms sp2 on win2k. the client discovery went normal as is found much of our network. we use network discovery as discovery method. however, the client installation method didn't work as good as we want. we select the windows networking client installation and enable it. it was scheduled to start last friday and today monday we didn't found any client neither assigned not installed excluding a router that appears to had no client installed but assigned. we check the subnets, masks, etc. and they look ok. do you have any idea of what's going on. does the strange assignment of the client to the router gives you some light?

thanks in advance...

Hi,
this method works only with NT/2000 clients.
On all NT clients you have to install smpt (network-properties-services). 2000 clients should work immidiately.

Regards
Andi

ok, thanks. what about the win95/98 clients? they already have the file/printer service installed. do i have to do something extra.
