Hello ALL,

I currently have an SMS Test Lab running, which is where I do all of my work for the time being. My question is, once network discovery does it's thing, it gives you the info in the client's properties. Why would the operating system not be detected on one of my machines? To be exact, I have a compaq deskpro EVO 1.7ghz, a compaq deskpro SFF-P600, and an IBM-T23 laptop, which are all running WXP (imaged using sysprep with a unique image for the IBM). The desktops are okay, but the IBM laptop is the one that does not show an operating system. Network settings are the same on all units... Any idea, anyone? THANKS...
 
It sometimes depends on a specific registry key being set incorrectly. Take a look through the presentation I gave at last year's MMS 2002, for more information:
