Client Association Problem

I have a client which backs up it's own C: but also has two shares beneath it, namely Y: & Z:

These two drives are defined by two different client names. However, when backing these client names up there is a failed index written i.e. 0kb index. There is an index written for the original client but the two shares beneath, though they have their own client name, don't have an index written,.

Is there any way of associating the index of these clients with the original client so that I am not backing up a full every night on these shares?

use save -c <original client name> for the backup command of the client object.

But i dont understand the construction !
Is ist a DFS ?
The ist better to use the mount points for saveset names.
Please explain the client construct with more details.

Ok

Well there is a server with 4 shares on it:

W: - productionw
X: - productionx
Y: - productiony
Z: - productionz

Each of these is hosted on a different server, so each has been added to Networker as a different client.

Regarding, save -c <original client name>

Is this something to be added to the backup command each each client i.e. do I add this to the backup command filed in Apps & Modules for productionw, productionx, productiony, productionz?

And is the backup command just save -c <original client name> or do I have to specify savesets/retentions/groups etc?

I am not quite sure I understabd your problem right :

You have 4 servers each of them shares a directory.

The "classic" way to do this is like the following :
You need to define four networker client objects, install the NW software on each server and backup all four servers.

Now I think you defined a fifth client which mounts the four shares from the four other servers and back them up.

This will not work.
To get this working you can use DFS.
Define a DFS entry point on the fifth server e.g. c:\production.
Now every share of the four servers will be mounted using DFS beneath c:\production.

Now your savesets are c:\production\productionw to c:\production\productionz
