client agent for ARCserve 2000

I'm having difficulty installing client agents on my servers.
I get these stupid errors stating that the install program can't open data.cab on the installation cd. If I copy the folder in which this file resides onto my C: drive and then run the setup program the installation will progress further but eventually gives me a message stating "Failed to install CA license. Please install the CA license from %s after ARCserve setup is completed." After I click OK it brings me back to the setup dialog box informing me that setup has failed. Wah????B-(

Have you restricted any services on these servers? How does a remote install of the client agents go? Have you updated MSI on these servers? if not run instmsiw from the arcserve msi directory on the arcserve cd.
