I've got an Arserve 2000 issue I hope someone can help with.
I've got 2 client agents running on Windows 2000 professional that "fail" when the job is run. I say "fail" because those agents don't even appear in the job log after the job is finished running. 5 other agents running win2000 either backup correctly or at least appear in the log as failing to connect (laptop), and have identical configurations.
Attempting to modify the job with respect to these 2 computers causes a "failed to connect to agent" message. Stopping the service on the client machine and restarting the service allows Arcserve to connect. Restarting the service, and running a small backup job works as well. When the main Client backup job is run overnight, the 2 machines do not get included.
I've tried re-creating the job, but that has failed to solve the problem. It seems that somehow the service, though it's reported as "running" develops some kind of problem over time.
All of the win2000 clients are using the "system security" option within the client agent software.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. One thing to note is that I haven't tried to re-install the client software.
Thanks. Jason
