We have Client Access on the as400 that came with OS400. In order to communicate with the 400 from a remote PC location over the internet; Do we need another PC version of Client Access? All help would be appreciated.

Need more information.

What version of OS?
What version of Client Access?
Is this through a VPN, straight internet, or something else?
How secure do you want it?

CAE (Client Access Express) the PC client is on your system right now if you have CAE. With NetServer running (STRTCPSVR SERVER(*NETSVR)) Go to \\myas400\QCA400\Win32\Install\Image\. Otherwise call your BP (Business Partner) they can get you a copy on CD. If you are licensed on the server, the "PC Software" is free, IIRC.

You can do SSL for CAE. Here is an article to kick-start you I will warn you, this can be a complicated process. As far as internet access, you will have to punch a couple holes (23 and/or 993) through your firewall to log on or figure out how to setup and use VPN.
