Client 4.83 removes drive A

I have installed clients 4.81 and 4.83 and drive A seems to disappear on the computer. If you boot up in safe mode the drive is there. When I boot up normally with Windows 2000 pro drive a is gone. The user is set administrator rights and there are no policies in effect. I've asked buddies of mine and they don't know. I've installed this client on generic clone machines and dell gx50 desktops and the same thing occurs. Please help

There is a patch for the 4.83 client - I had a lot of problems unitl I loaded it.
