I have a CS1000E, rls 5.0.

I have 3 PRI's hooked up to the system. The CO switch is a DMS-100.

I am having problems with CLID. I am pushing out the phone number correctly, but am not pushing out a Name. To most people I call through the PRI's, they get either "Out of Area", or "Unknown Name".

I have added names to my CLID tables in LD 95, and have added NDS to the RCAP on each d-channel.

Can you help me with something I am missing?

Turn on DCH monitoring for outbound and set monitor to level 2 and check to see if you're sending name. The name will be in the facility messages in hex format.

Once you have verified you're sending name, then you can contact your telco and tell them to their part.

ld 96
enl msgo x - where x is the dch number
set msgo x mon 2

Ok, did that, which part of the dch message is the name, it looks like everything is in hex?

i assume the dms is from your provider. names on the pstn do not come from users. they come from a national database called the ss7 table. all proividers have edit rights, they can assign names to unique clid entries.. we have one name for all entries as well as all our did's.

if i build a clid entry with my home number, it pulls the name from the ss7. not in the same area code, the ss7 works almost like a dns server. IF you change the rdb to internal, you will send names, rcap nd3, but your pstn will ignore the name or reject the call
