call display and call log are two different things. The Cics will allow any ringing set to show call display before answering., but the Mics will only allow one set per line.
For Mics xc 1.1 see "call services" in programming.
Call Log is a record of incoming calls.Any set can have this feature.See "set services" These are only recorded after calls are transferred to a set and call display info is now present.
The short answer to your question is ..no.
I agree with nortelnorstar. I am thinking that the new software allows all ringing phones to display caller ID if you set it under telco features. The older software only allowed a limited number of sets to be caller ID sets. It was four sets or something like that. I'll have to check to be sure, though.
Can someone answer me this question?
The CLID isn't displayed till the user picks up the phone. User would like CLID to diplay before pickup. Ringing is set to three rings before VM picks up.
It's a CICS w/6.1 software. It has a caller ID trunk card and caller ID is turned on under telco features for all of the 7213E sets.
If the call is answered by the voice mail after 2 rings it should display to transfered DN's. If you're looking for CLID on a set... it must programed for appear and ring or ring only for the line in question and in terminals and sets >telco features set CLID on those lines to yes.
This thread might be one of those that go on and on forever, but, I just have to say that CLID has always worked properly on CICS since 1.0. And yes, the lines do have to be ringing on the set first. MICS was finally fixed in 6.0 as stated above. Just tryin' to defend the CICS for a change.
Well said Marvo!!!
The CICS for some reason gets a bad rep in some places but as far a CLID, i've never had a problem with multiple sets showing CLID, 1.0 or higher. The MICS had to do some growing up I guess.
