Does anyone know if CICS with v4.2 can add the 1 and area code to the CLID number of a log, so when you reply it adds all 11 digits? We have an overlay of area codes, so all calls, local and long distant must be 11 digits (1-222-333-4444).

Presently, if you look through the log of CLID names and numbers, find a number you wish to call and press an out going line to initiate the call, it only dials the last seven digits.

Thx

After you dial feat 8 1 2 to look at the log and are viewing a number dial in the numbers that must be dialed first to make the call then punch a line button and the call will be made. experiment a little to see what you will actually need to dial in though. JerryReeve

Thx Jerry,

All calls require eleven digit dialing (1+222+333+4444) the log only dials the last seven. Can the CICS be programmed to automatically dial the leading 1 and area code?

Thx again!

You could put 1+area code onto a button and dial the seven digit number after pressing the external auto dial.

Cheers

ARR, Unfortunately that will not work with the call log, it appears that the call log only dials out the NNX-XXXX of a phone number.

icsaidblindman you might try to make a destination code and route (such as 9 or 99) that will pre-dial the 1 XNX first. then you would bring up the log (Fat 8 1 2) dial a destination code (99) then hit your i/c button.

altrnatively, depending on how many office codes you might have to fight with for local calls you could make destination codes out of their office codes and let the log just dial out on i/c JerryReeve
