clid is a product of the outbound channel, a cot has no data channel just the analong setup and tear down with the audio being dc varied at an audio rate.. for 911 the central office, ties the analog Tn (lens if the dms) to a get file command to send your CLID to the dispatch on a seperate analog kilobit ckt. when i 1st installed that equiptment (10 years ago) it was ready to retire, it is still in use because gov management policy is usually a result of non informed elected officals with LOTS of money.
