I have been doing some research for the past couple days(thread798-1042572) and I am finding (I think) that in the US the Telco 100% controls the caller id name. Is that correct? If so, it seems that if I wanted to send a certain name for a outplused DID then all I need it the right person at my Telco to update the name for a specific outplused DID? What I have is a tenant that has their DID's on my PRI and I already send their "Main Number" out for their calls but the name reflects my BTN. I opened a case with ATT and they are saying they can't change that (standard answer) so I am trying to dig a little further and find a better way to ask. I am working with a option 61 with dual msdl cards and PRIs. Thanks for any ideas on where to go from here!

I have never had any luck sending the name to the PSTN. I have however, hear that it can be done if the C.O. is a Nortel DMS and the settings are correct. But I have never actually seen it work.

Have you ever heard of them changing the name displayed for a particular DID? I don't care to control it necessarily but if I could get them to change DID 269660XXXX to say Customer XXX for the name field I think I would keep this tenant happy.

I think that would depend on the carrier, but no, I have not heard of them doing this for a particular DID # within the block. Worth a shot though.
