We have a MM5.1 with a MSS backend. When a caller dials a extension via a menu + entension caller application the CLID is not being passed to the end users phone set. Is there a way to pass this through. We are using H323 integration.

The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning, and does not stop until you get to the office.

calls going through caller application are fully supervised and would/should show the MM system calling the other end. Once the other end answers the call the original Calling Party ID should update on the display of the phone that answered.

My user community wants to see the display so they can decide if they want to accept the call. If I set the transfer to blind will this do the trick.

no. Like I said caller apps will force the transfer to become supervised. Depending on the integration if the calls originated from the MM system but not caller apps then it is possible the transfers can be blind and should show original calling party ID prior the the other end answering.

Another thing they can do is to setup in their MM mailbox for call screening so that if a call came from the MM system it should prompt the caller to record a name so the user can decide from that recording whether or not to answer it. it works when calls originate from the MM system but I'm not sure if they work when calls come from caller apps.

H.323 will not allow a blind transfer under any condition.

If you need it you should change to T-1 QSIG as SIP also must use supervised transfer
