I've been trying to get my toll free numbers to display "company name" on external caller ID's so that the customers my outbound agents call dont think we are telemarketing.
I have PRI T1's 23b+d and on my local lines the company name appears fine with the number but when I replace the CLID with a toll free number it only displays "TOLL FREE" and the number. I asked Telco and they said it comes from our PBX.
Operating on meridian 1-option 81-25.4.

The "number" comes from your PBX, but the "name" is not transmitted out to the called party - that is a telco "feature"

Toll Free numbers are portable, and keeping track of who has what number is a near insurmountable task.
