ClickOnce Deployment Questiions

I'm about to start a new Win Forms project and have never used ClickOnce. Well I did try it a long time ago and got confused pretty quickly. This might be deployed on a remote Linux server. My question is does the update location have to be fixed as in SomeRemoteServer.AppName, or can it be selected by the user? I guess I'm wondering about what happens when you change hosting servers, do the ClickOnce files have to be re published? And how do the client computers know where to find the update then? These are basic questions, but still confusing to me.
