Clicking save as, defaults to .jpeg

Until last week when I right clicked an image to save as, the default extension was .jpg, now it defaults to .jpeg.

While minor, it is irritating and I would like to reset it. if possible.

I am using Windows XP pro and IE 6.

I've tried changing associations, and options. There is nothing in gpedit that applies to this issue. nothing in properties either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

.jpg amd .jpeg are the same file type.

Yes I know they are the same file type, however some programs won't read it if the file is saved as .jpeg.
