We have a 412 and a 406 side by side connected through the PRI modules using a crossover cable(TX-RX). They are using Qsig networking (no compression modules). The 406 uses the trunks (isdn 30) connected to the 412 to dial out. when you dial out, or recieve calls on the 406 there is a popping noise in the backround, it only happens over the Qsig connection.

Its sound similar to the issue we had when we connected an IP401 to another PBX (and INDeX 30) using BRI. In the end it turned out to be the "clock source" settings on the trunks - pushing my memory I think setting both to "Unsuitable" was the solution. Try making changes there.

We have tried your suggestion, when we done this there was a really bad earth humming on the line.
Any more suggestions??

Sorry, the only bad humming situation I've encountered (no jokes now) was when using A-law phones on a Mu-law system.
