I am having problems with hyperlinks in Outlook Express 6. When I am emailed hyperlinks and I click on them, nothing happens. The cursor DOES turn into a hand, but still nothing. Incidentally, this happens in other programs as well. (i.e. Yahoo! Messenger) Clicking hyperlinks in my browser works fine. I've looked high and low for an option to enable clickable links and can't find anything. FYI, the links ARE blue and underlined.

If these are HTTP link then look up the file association for URL:HyperText Transfer Protcol. Look at the command line that is being run for the OPEN command. With IE it should be similar to

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome "%1" joegz

The file path is like you have it, but the -nohome "%1" isn't there. I put it in there and hit apply and tried again. Still doesn't work. Under File Associations, it has Internet Explorer as the program to open URL file types, the same goes for HTM and HTML. There was no HTTP listed. I'm not real sure I was doing what I should to follow your advice. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional, if that helps any. Can you (or anyone) walk me thru this step by step? I've never had this problem before.

Try this. With Outlook and all browser windows closed go to control panel--internet options--programs tab--click the reset web settings button then ok out. If that doesn't fix it try this. Click start--run--type this and hit enter:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

If that doesn't fix it try extracting a new oleaut32.dll file from the cd if win2000 uses one. I know 98 does. I don't have 2000 so i don't know.

When you go into file association on W2K press the letter N on your keyboard to jump to the file types that start with N. Then scroll down a bit and eventually you should see the file types listed as N/A

There you should eventually find URL:HyperText Transfer Protcol. Then follow the rest of the steps previously posted. joegz

jeogz - Your 2nd post worked! Thank you so much!! Kento, thank you also for your help!

Thanks VERY MUCH especially joegz! I support 200 pc's and there was this one pc that wouldnt launch IE when clicking links in OUTLOOK 2000, but doing what joegz suggested, by going to the NA list and finding find URL:HyperText Transfer Protcol and then advanced i noticed that "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome had no "%1" on the end, all i did was to add the "%1" on the end of the line, and this fixed the problem!

Thanks, this has driven me crazy since b4 xmas!!!

Your welcome.
