I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but i have an asp page with a link to another asp page (that has an insert record form). However, i have a couple of users, who on clicking the link, opens a download file window instead of opening the asp page.

I know that this is linked to the fact that they have adobe photoshop v.5.5, but i cannot find out how to fix the problem.

I cannot see anything wrong with the file type associations as it opens up asp pages without insertion forms fine.

Has anyone got any idea as to how to fix this?

Thanks

Never really checked what Photoshops file types look for.

But if you've narrowed it to photoshop, first try removing any pictures - onMouse Over, stuff like that - are all pics jpg and gif, remove em, test - it it works ok, then put in the pics one or two at a time and test again.

Normally I'd hmmmm - in fact, check your paths on the images for that particular page. Make sure your images/picture.gif instead of something like file\\D:\mywebsite\images\picture.gif "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"

Thanks for that Schase, but there are no piccies in the page whatsoever.

I did try deleting the recordset from the page and the user can open the page as normal...but thats not much good!!!!

They've also tried uninstalling Adobe photoshop and anything related to it. It still does not work.

I'd appreciate any further suggestions...we could try reinstalling Dreamweaver on their PC?!?!?

Thanks in advance...

can you send us the link to check it out? "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!"

I would, but its an intranet page.

We've figured out that when installing Adobe in normal setup, it seems to think that asp extensions are (primarily) associated to tables in Adobe. Therefore causing the download issue.

We just have to install the Adobe in custom setup and not allow it to take over asp files.

I'll let you know what happens when we find the disks to Adobe...we've lost them.

Cheers anyway...[bigears]

hmmm, interesting - and if you do find the disks and confirm the setup issue - put it on the FAQ's
