I've recently bought a second hand computer from my work for home use and am having a few teething problems - mainly related to old network installed apps.

One of the most annoying is Microsoft Office and Acrobat. At the moment any attempt to read an acrobat file starts up the office installer and then prompts me to find the (non existent) office disk. Clicking cancel makes it simply pause and then prompt again.

Obviously I'd kinda like to rid acrobat of this intrusion. This happened to anyone else/any suggestions? Office is, to the best of my ability deleted, down to its registry files - but something is hanging on in there driving me crazy...

Cheers in advance!

Assuming you are on Windows 2000/XP

Go to the Add/Remove Programs list. Click "change" for Adobe Acrobat. Navigate to the Acrobat options list "PDF Maker" and remove all the Office plugins.
Good luck.
