Clicking on a Icon and nothing happens

Hello,
I am running Redhat ver. 9.0. I am trying to click on the icon for my home directory <Username's Home> and nothing happens. I then, right click on the same icon and hit open but nothing happens! Does anyone know how I can solve this???

sounds to me like what ever window manager u have is trying to executed the command but it cant but it keeps quite. what wm are you using?, gnome, kde?
