Hi

I am using CRXI, Access 2000

When I click on a field in the report, it highlights the entire column. Is this a bug or is there a property which can disable this feature ?

That is the mode for the active x viewer.

What would you prefer to happen, nothing?

It is simply identifying all like entities within the report, most like it.

Thanks K for responding.!!!

My client does not like it...

I would like to see only the field that is clicked to be highlighted OR
I am okay with completely disabling the highlight.

Only the field that is clicked is highlighted. Its just that most of the entire column is made up of that field. You may notice that if they have group subtotals or grand totals, these are not highlighted, because they did not choose this field, they choose the details field.

Wat don't they like about it?

dgillz,
You are right only when the user clicks on the fields in the detail section, it highlights the entire column. I forgot to mention, the entire highlighted column appears "light blue". This is what is bothering the client.

What are they expecting?

You cannot pick an individual value, the way you could in excel. I would just explain this to the client and move on.

dgillz,

I agree to what you are saying.

I am assuming everyone who has read this post is facing the same issue. I will convey to the client that this is how it works in crystal reports. I have no control over that.

Since Crystal is a banded type of report writer, they consider it helpful to show all like entities, and perhaps with some additional explanation, your client will as well.
