My mates just bought a new pc with windows zp pro sp2.
They have norton abti virus and internet security 2006.

I have disabled all pop up blockers and ad blockers but when I click any of the links on the page below nothing happens.

On my machine it works fine. Even with the pop up blocker on I don't get a beep saying its been blocked.

What can be stopping it.

I have disabled Norton and disabled internet security and it still didn't work.

Everything there seems to be a javascript popup window. Do you have any pop-up blocker installed. Also make sure that you have the latest version of java runtime

I'll check the java.

I don't have a pop up blocker

Download hijack this from the link below. Extract to desktop or prefered folder. Open the program choose do a system scan and save a logfile and then post the logfile on here. I or someone else will go through it and see if anything suspicious or shouldnt be there is on it.

While you may prefer IE, it's clear that IE isn't working for you at the moment, so I would have thought that any browser in a working condition would be better than your favourite browser in a broken condition.

That aside, give Firefox a go - you may find that the problem still persists, in which case at least you'll know that it probably isn't an IE-specific issue. You may also get to like Firefox ;o)

To rule out the possibility that it's the XP pop-up blocker, click the link using CTRL-Click and see if that causes the window to appear. This also works with the Google toolbar pop-up blocker.
