I have a customer with 3 legend systems tied together with a T-1 pipe to central system I will call DC. The dc sight has a intuity voice mail centrallized. The va and md sight go thru dc to talk to each other. The systems have been installed for 4 years and working well. over the last couple of months. The md system calling the other two systems keeps clicking very bad and disconnecting. We had a vender meet and the pipr is clean according to there testing. Help. I have an 8404 event code. which seems to be continuos. But I do not no if it is related. The problem seems to be getting worst although never when I am on sight. Any thought or suggestions would be apprecaited. Thanks

8404 ON HOOK BEFORE WINK:
Outbound dialing problems on tie
trunks. Far end of network
interface went on-hook before
handshake was completed (for
delay-dial or wink-start tie trunk).

If problem persists, check tie trunk
configuration. Check far end. Check
for faulty cable. Replace module.

This was taken from the Pocket Reference document.

If NOTHING has changed, my bet is that a fresh orderly restart of the central (DC) switch will make it all better. Best to restart all systems. Since the T-1 is a point to point, and the T-12 supplier says all is OK, then you pretty much have to look at equipment. The wink is coming from the far end switch, so since the far end switch is your equipment, need to look there. I wouldn't rush out and replace modules yet, but that is a distinct possibility.

I have had T1s for dial tome that would click and on the CSU you wouls see errors on the phon esystem side. I played around with it for a long time replacing cards..etc.. finally I took the whole thing apart off the wall and re-installed everything and it worked fine. I never did figure out exactly what it was, it was all the same hardware , I think the 3 carriers may have had not been seated together correctly.
