On a Merlin Legend 7.0 with Merlin Messaging 2.5 which I recently installed, the caller hears an audible click when either the AutoAttendant answers or any of the extensions answers? Is there a setting to eliminate that click?

Sounds like hot CO lines. I'd bet these are loop start lines running off a SLIC. I'd also bet the lines are running high current levels. Try a 1/4 watt or 1/2 watt 100 resistor in place of the bridge clips on the RJ21X and see if that doesn't make a big impact. Be sure to use one each on tip and ring or the line will be unbalanced and will hum.

I've had simimal things happen on a T-1, but it's a click or pop followed by a tone that sounds a little like a ting. ...this is beginning to sound like an Alka-Seltzer commercial.
