Is there a procedure to clear the old backup files off a translation card? I've acquired a old Ledgen for my test lab and want to take all the old backups off the card. Thanks In Advance.

You can do a frigid restart on the system and overwrite the manual backups then Set automatic backup and set the time and date for 1:59 AM Sunday (2 weeks ago)and wait a few minutes then move ahead a week (1 week ago) and set the time back to 1:59 am again and it will replace the 2nd auto backup file.

I thought, but haven't tried, that you could stick a card into a laptop and address it as a local disk, deleting files via Windows commands. Is this not so?

If you have a card reader attached to your PC that accepts this type of card you can erase the contents, then put the card back in the Legend. When you try to backup to the card a display prompt will say the card is not the right type and ask if you want to format the card. After the format the card is at a virgin state.

Go to:
System > Backup/Restore > Backup

Select Backup 1, 2, or 3 > Enter
Do you want to continue > Yes

As soon as backup begins, select Exit.

You will see the msg. Backup canceled, file deleted.

Repeat for all files you want deleted.

Franke, that was exactly what I was looking for. It worked like a charm. Thanks all for your posts.

BRIAN,

I have a card reader in my PC, but it NEVER recognizes these Backup Cards.

Do you have some special software that can do this?
