Hey there,

I have Arcserve 2000 SP4 with Exchange agent on Win2k SP3, I was wondering if any of you clever dudes knew how to clear deleted mailbox's from the Arserve backup window when you expand the mailbox backup?

thanks for any help,

HI,

You havent mentioned the Exchange version in use....

however, if you are using Exchange 2000...
verify if these mailboxes are still visible in the system manager...

if so right click on mailstore\mailboxes
run cleanup agent...
this should mark the disabled\deleted mailboxes with a red cross....

now purge all these mailboxes...

recycle the backup agent RPC server service...

For exchange 5.5

run the Consistecny Adjuster...

recycle the backup agent RPC server service

cheers

Thanks for that although doesnt the consistency checker cause problems? Also Iam a little vague about the recycling part? Is that within Arcserve? it's exchange 5.5 SP4 by the way.

Thanks

HI,

Running the Consistency adjuster is the only way to get rid of them...

Onthe Exchange server...
look for a service called...

"Backup Agent RPC server"
stop and restart it...

Greetings, does this mean as I delete and add mailboxes I have to reset EVERYTIME the backups to match the mailboxes? I do alot of adding deleting. This would increase my administration time.

HI,

If you have setup the Brick level backup to do a FULL Dynamic job...

i.e if on the Backup manager the green box next to Brick level is fully shaded, you wouldn't have to recycle the job the modification will be updated automatically, provided, these modifications are refleceted properly on the Exchange administrator\system manager...

cheers
