Is there a way to clear the activity log?

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

This can only be done automatically with ARCserve 2000
( check the view - preferences tab in the job status manager and adjust the prune activity log settings )

regards

There is a garbage can icon in ArcServe 2000 that you can use to clear the activity log. Go to the Job Status window and click on the Activity Log tab. Directly above the job detail window you will find the garbage can icon. Give that a try. Hope this helps.

if you want to keep the infomration then you can just move the \\server\arcserve$\log\arcserve.log to another location and then ARCserve creates a new one when it needs to write again.

Bear in mind that sometimes the Activity log is all the historical info you have abot previous jobs especially as the job logs are pruned automatically (depending on your pruning job settings - I think).

Andy.

The Arcserve log is a plain text file, I used to cut each month's worth to a new file just to make scrolling through the 'live' log file a bit easier.
