if i change or add nat command to PIX should i run "clear xlate" to make it work?
what impact would happen to connection that is active?
for example..
IF i have mail server running and it is currently running/sending big email to other mail server,
then i run "clear xlate" command in PIX, what would happen?
surely the translation table gets cleared but what happen to the email message that my server is currently sending?will it be timeout and resend? or will it be corrupt or lost or something?

anyone know?
i have a busy mail server running, dont wanna lost any mail running within it

thanks

Hi there,

Whenever you modify, add or delete the aaa-server, access-list, nat, global, alias, static, route and conduit commands you need to issue a clear xlate.

The clear xlate command will drop all your current connections so you will need to re-start them. Hope this helps!

hi guys..
thanks for your input, you both right..seems like im not loosing any email :)
thanks again
