Clear the Message Queue

How do you clear the message queue for v 8.12.5 on RHL?

Is it just a matter of deleting the files from /var/spool/mqueue and stoping and re-starting Sendmail or is there a command I can issue?

Have read through the MAN pages but can't see anything.

sure there is,

try ;
#sendmail -v -q

just delete all messages in /var/spool/mqueue. you might also need to delete some in /var/spool/clientmqueue
