How can I clear the history in the Start-Run box?
I'd bet dollars to donuts theres a way.......

TweakUI address:

I recommend using TweakUI.

Unfortunately, unless you are running TweakUI, you have to edit the registry and delete the entries manually. To do so:

Open the registry. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerRunMRU. Highlight the entry you want to remove from the run history. For example, "a." From the Edit menu, click Delete (or you can simply press the Delete key on the keyboard). Click Yes to confirm your actions. Double click the MRUList value and remove the letter that you deleted from the list. Click OK. Close the registry.

Or just go to the taskbar (right click) and then customize and then click clear. That will do it as well manually and fast.

Regards.

Give me your e-mail address and I will send you a programme I use that cleans the whole computer of rubbish.

Have you tried clearing History via IE?

Did you try this?

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab.
Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
Select the check boxes for the AutoComplete options you want to use.

This thread will lead you in to deleting Index.dat files that contain all this unwanted history entries.

For more information about Index.dat, you might want to research the whole story at this site. The article is Windows 9x related but the story of Desktop.ini and Index.dat files is pretty much applicable to XP.
