Installing a voicemail to replace the current in-skin AD8 on a 2000IVS. Got the new VM up and running, but could not clear the MSG # on the station displays.

Leaving messages in the new VM and checking them clears the MW lamp but not the counter. Dialing the access code to clear message waiting also does not clear the counter. Switch reset also did not clear the counters.

Even if the MCI cable is disconnected from the AD8, will it still set the msg counters if it is seated in its slot or does the switch keep track of the msg count somewhere?

What code did you dial?

Setup an access code in Command 20 for feature A46

Code A46 Message Waiting Retrieve

Go to each phone dial your new access code plus 3...you may have to do this more than once, or one time for each message displayed.

Repost if you more help

A46 clears the MW Lamp, but not the MSG count on the LCD.

Let me clarify. A46+3 will clear the MWI and reduce the count by 1, but a second dial of the feature code give reorder.

Sorry 3DNet but I think you are in the hands of NEC here. MCI controls are a bit different to what you can normally alter. This may involve a direct memory write which should only be done with direction from NEC or you could screw things up big style.

In CMD 10 or 14 depending on the system delete the ext and put it back in right away. Then go back in to 1303 to and reset it to 0 and check fowarding. All your key data will remain but the msg count will be cleared.

Note to all....
Message waiting turned on by digital integration can only be turned off by digital integration. Or via CM F1 as OzzieGeorge points out.
