clear command

Hai All,

I am new to Solaris.When i give clear command in the console of Solaris 5.8 , the contents are not getting cleared. Instead Killed gets thrown in the console. When i use ctrl+l the contents in the console gets cleared. could anyone tell me why this is happeneing??? How to rectify it????. Thanks in
advance.

Set the TERM variable to the type of terminal you are using.
