I have an extraction that shows the first, last, & id of the person. Like:

John Doe (JD101)

How do I remove the id so I will only have the first and last names of the people??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kastaman.

IF all your ID's are enclosed in parentheses, this will work. Do a Find and Replace. (Choose Edit from the main menu and then Replace) In the Find box, key in exactly this: (*) Don't key anything into the Replace box. Select Replace All. It will replace all parentheses and whatever is contained in them with nothing, thus eliminating them. Highlight the column you are working with, so that Find and Replace only will look in that one column (otherwise you may accidentally replace something in another column that you didn't intend to replace). You could also use Text to Columns, with a Delimiter (space). This has the added advantage of putting the ID's into their own column, as opposed to getting rid of the entirely. If Replace isn't the option you want and you're not familiar with Text to Columns (under the Data menu) I can give you a walk-through. It's quite easy to use.
