Can anybody tell me how to schedule a cleaning job on a non autoloading media drive?

Hi.

Can't be done. Depending on your type of drive, you generally just stick a cleaning tape in the drive manually.

We use a DLT drive that has a light that will come on when the drive needs to be cleaned. We then just stick the cleaning tape into the drive till the light turns green.

Takes just a couple of minutes to do. It's a bit of a PITA but we only have to do it maybe once a month at most.

Mark, I'm also using the DLT drive and it seems that even after I format my DLT IV tapes that they still won't accept new data to be written to them. I have all the options set to overwrite, I do a quick erase, and then a long erase, but still no go. Have you had this problem or can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
