Hi. Im working at a company that is in desperate need of cleaning up old mail files from the server. Im working with routers and swithes and have no idea how Exchange works.. What I DO know is that we have 3MB left on c: !!! Modules won't come up and a lot of other problems..no wonder!

We have another disk (e:) installed but don't know how to save mails in the future on that one.

PLEAAASE help me out how to solve these needs!! TNX A LOT!!!

what drivies do you have? what is on each one? how much space is left on each one?

If the log files are taking up space (look for a mdbdata folder contain files like e00xxxx.log) run a full backup and this will flush the log files to free up some space. Hope fully this will get the services back up and running so that you can move the database onto drive E

Hi,

What ACraib says is possible.
The log files may have grown up
and you may want to take a full back up
and then check. You also would have
some error messages in the event viewer
relating to disk space.
What do they indicate?

If you are using Outlook, then you can try creating
PST folders for selected usres
by having shared folders on the
E drive for the "heavy" users.

Regards,

Ram

Your exchange store may need to be compacted. It does not automatically decrease in size when it gets smaller.

take the datebase off-line (dismount the store) and use

ESEUTIL /d priv1.edb (or what ever the name of the database is)

I've just run this on 3 database (total 30Gb and have got back 8Gb)
