Classic Mail Problem

A client of mine has a Merlin Classic Mail system. The hard drive went out on it and he purchased a new hard drive for it.

Now, when you go to access the voice mail system it gets to the login prompt then resets.

Does this thing need to be formatted or something?

Did he get a hard drive WITH the software on it? or just buy a "blank" hard drive? The software is proprietary and needs to be on the hard drive for the classic mail to work at all.
