Does anyone know what voltage/frequency the "extra alert' module puts out for the extra-alert loud ringer on the Merlin 410 type control units? I tried measuring it, but the duration is too short for my DMM and I did not have an analogue meter available. I took the ringer apart and it was not a "normal" ringer with cap & coil! This one has a bridge rectifier/cap/toroid on the term board and it uses the 2nd pair of the modular line cord (bk/yel or wo/ow). It won't work on POTS. When you bridge it across the loop it draws dialtone.

Thanks for any help...

As I recall, they were 48 Volts DC.

Or, try 24 to start with.

The manual for Merlin Plus says the Supplemental Alert Adapter rings at -48volts.
