Frosty -

Can you supply some code?

Typically, a class factory is a class which supplies instances of other classes to a program. You would use one when you wanted to keep track of how many instances have been created (like, so you can run some cleanup code when all instances have been deleted). Or use it as a security measure, to restrict who can create an instance.

Hmmm. Is this ClassFactory is something that you haven't written? IOW, it's something to do with OLE attempting to create an object for you, but is failing? If this wasn't Win2k, I would suggest checking to see if the OLE files are in sync, but those files are protected in Win2k, and no one should be able to overwrite them.

Chip H.
