Hi All

I have a cluster of 3300's on MCD 4.0 SP1. They have been migrated to SDS and RDN syncronisation.

One of the sites "PBX B" routes it's outbound calls over IP Trunks to a gateway 3300 "PBX A" then out to the PSTN via the 2 x T1/E1 links.

My issue is on "PBX A" the ARS is set up to use one T1/E1 link as outgoing (1) and one link for incoming (2) the customer needs to send some traffic (faxes) out over link (2) outgoing. The only way i could achieve this on the local system was to set up a route list and give the fax machines a class of restriction barred from the first link (1) so it would send all calls over link (2).

That works like a charm on PBX A but when I send faxes from "PBX B" the call uses link (1). Ive given the faxes on "PBX B" the same CoR as the faxes on "A" (they are sharing CoR forms via SDS). When I ccs trace I can see the call hit PBX A then go out over link (1)!

My question is what CoR will the call use when it arrives from PBX B over an IP Trunk. I thought it would use the CoR of the extension where it originated?

Thanks and sorry for the novel!

Can you not add a couple of extra IP trunks from system B-A and make these a different trunk group, trunk service & COR to the rest of the IP trunks then, give your fax machines a COR that dials out on these trunks then make the COR on System A so that these trunks go out over link 2.

Just shooting from the hip not really though it through 100%

Thanks for the reply bobcheese.

So the ARS on PBX A uses the CoR of the IP Trunks rather than of the device the call originates at?

The whole idea of traveling class is based on this. Make your life simple and set the option in the system options to YES. then program the CoR up as you would on a single system on the switch with the PSTN lines and leave the IP trunks free for the systems.
