I'm looking to plug in my old Clarion 4 database into my new Citrix for Win2K solution - anyone have any experience with this? Any known problems? TIA......mwk
The most important thing to consider is any "single user" minded data or INI files. The application will be executing on the server and may not necessarily know that it is being used by different people.
Not really, it an issue of how your designed your application and where it looks for any persisted data. That means it's up to you when you create the application.
I have used Clarion and Citrix on NT4 and Clarion on Win2K Terminal Server. It works well. We found Citrix wasn't really necessary on Win2K unless you needed greater than 256K colours and the advanced drive mapping features Citrix offers.
However, just a reminder to turn of Write-Behind Caching if you are using Topspeed or Clarion files.
Thanks a lot, this is great! We'll need the drive mapping so Citrix is necessary. Do you have any other tips or things to keep in mind for this installation?...mwk
