Clarification on Caller ID and Messaging

All,


We currently have ACS 5.0 mated with Partner Messaging 7.0. VMS Delay is set to 2 rings on all lines. Caller ID is displayed on the handsets:

1) Sometimes after 1 or 2 rings on the handset
2) Sometimes after 3 or 4 rings on the handset
3) Sometimes when the handset is picked up
4) Every time when the ringing line button is pressed.


My question is, if I upgrade to ACS 8, will I get condition #1 on a consistent basis (which is what I want?)

Any thoughts? Does caller ID work better on ACS 8?
 
I believe if a line is set to No Ring, caller ID will not be displayed unless you push the line button. In general caller ID info is sent between the first and second rings.
