We have 2 t1's coming in the office going into 2 adtran units through the csu/dsu the provider has supplied. Our computers run through one of the adtrans, and both adtrans have the rj21 connectors running to a 66 punchblock each. From the punch blocks they run to a column of 110 punchblocks, to our norstar system. Out from the norstar to more 110 punchblocks connecting to the phone lines.

The phones being used are a combination of both m7324 and m7310 units. 24 of them.

On the MICS 4.1 I have 2 nt7b75ga-93 cards that I found are LS/DS analog trunk cartridges w/no caller id. 1 of (unsure of offical name) the fiber expansion cards offering 2 plugs going out to 2 m12x0 units. One has 3 nt5b40ga-93 cards LS/DS trunk cartridge, and the other has a nt7b75ga-93 card in it.

I've got a few Viking SO-24 units laying around, as well as DEE's CM30 and CM300's. I read the Viking unit can be wired in parallel with up to 24 C.O. lines, Centrex lines, or analog PABX/KSU stations.
It can also be used to monitor digital systems, requiring an extra pair of wires run to each phone.
I can't find if the CM30's and CM300's can be used with digital/analog lines in the same fashion.

So is this phone system digital or analog? I know the trunk cards say analog, but I found one site that says the phones are digital... I'd like to install these observation units without destroying any equipment from my noobness of this subject.

And yes my employer is aware of the laws concerning recording calls and the necessary precautions are being taken.

KSU is digital

The phones are digital but you can also put analog phone if using an ATA to convert.

Normal copper lines are analog trunks (like your LS/DS cards)however the system can handle a digital T1/PRI if added with hardware and key code.

Thanks for clearing that up for me curly. I was getting confused about the way things are set up right now with this system.

I spoke with someone about those so-24's and cm30's and yeah they're for monitoring analog lines so I can't use them on the norstar's phones, but the guy said the way our setup is that we could monitor incoming lines before the ksu, but won't be able to tell who's line we're monitoring which is what we want to be able to do.

Is the above information about monitoring these lines correct? We're trying to get all lines recorded in the future and so far it looks like the auxboxs mentioned in other threads are the most inexpensive way to go...

OR does anyone know about a phone system we can get that would allow us to record all of our calls? I know they can get into the 20,000+ dollar range, but they're gonna be necessary.

This puppy does everything needed and about 15k out of the box...no key code BS.
This is for the serious users only.

Otherwise yes the Auxbox will do but they go before the phone and not the lines, individual or server type.
